POSITION: Senior IT Officer (Database administrator) 01 Positions
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  1. Perform database administration (installation, configuration, upgrading), and maintenance;
  2. Support day to day activities like database refresh, schema refresh, update and patching, etc.;
  3. Troubleshoot issues related to the Database System;
  4. Monitor database performance and perform tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks;
  5. Provide operational support for ongoing processes;
  6. Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity;
  7. Manage user access, security, and permissions;
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner;
  9. Provide support and guidance to end-users as needed;
  10. Develop and maintain documentation related to the database environment;
  11. Contribute to the implementation of database-related projects and initiatives;
  12. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and data consistency;
  13. Assist to Core banking developer team (vendor) and IT staff to integrate/testing support teams with deployment of new and upgraded software solutions, reports coding, and quality assurance policies and procedures within the Core banking System environment;
  14. Work with application development staff to develop database architectures;
  15. Provide real-time Operational support for all systems under administration;
  16. Extensive experience supporting core banking system/database/applications in a real-time mission critical environment;
  17. Focus and an understanding of delivering to agree of system requirements of the business;
  18. Training system upgrade to the System Operation staff of the bank;
  19. Complying, preparing system documents, reports to support Internal Audit & External Audit;
  20. And other related tasks assigned by the Head of IT.
     
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor Degree of Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology;
  • Two years plus of experience as Database Administration;
  • Good understanding of databases and underlying infrastructure;
  • Working knowledge in performance analysis and tuning;
  • Understanding of DR and replication concepts;
  • Working knowledge in SQL;
  • Experience in Linux Operating System environment;
  • Ability writing & communication in English;
  • Good at problem solving skills and fast learning or understanding with problems;
  • A patient and ability to work in a pressure;
  • Good organizing and multitasking skills;>
  • Ability to priorities workload and attention to details;
  • Strong listening, questioning, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Skills and think to logically (Analytical skills and the ability to understand complex information);
  • Good at working as part of people, a team and communicating progress and escalating problems in a timely manner;
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong communication and documentation skills.
